Inventory Management

Inventory Management tracks stock by SKU, bin, batch, serial number, and location, with available/allocated/on-order balances kept current as receipts, picks and adjustments post. Multi-location, multi-warehouse support, low-stock alerts, and FIFO/LIFO/weighted-average valuation are configurable per company.

Can you follow one SKU from receipt to dispatch?

Use this small, repeatable test when evaluating inventory software. It assumes one location, no damaged stock or inbound stock counted as available, and allocations that reduce availability without reducing physical stock. These are illustrative expected quantities, not measured customer results.

Worked example: available = on hand minus allocated
ActionOn handAllocatedAvailable
Receive 100 units into a bin1000100
Allocate 30 units to an order1003070
Dispatch 20 of the allocated units801070
Count 78 units and approve a two-unit shortage781068

Check the handoff for your Australian operation

Run the dispatch step using your Australian carrier account and service. Confirm label and tracking scope separately, then check what reaches Xero, MYOB or your existing ledger. Retailer ASN and pallet-label requirements need their own acceptance test.

Ask the demonstrator to show the audit trail, who can approve the shortage, and what happens if a sync fails. Record any gap and agree how it will be tested before go-live.
